Master the fire codes, engineering standards, and clinical safety protocols that keep hyperbaric chambers safe, compliant, and accident-free.

Become a Safety Director

Course Overview

This program prepares you to lead safety operations at clinical hyperbaric facilities. Across 12 modules, you'll build a working command of fire codes, pressure and gas-law calculations, NFPA 99 Chapter 14 requirements, ASME/PVHO standards, mechanical systems, oxygen storage, clinical risk management, and emergency response. The course moves from foundational history and math into applied topics like inspections, safety program design, liability, and regulatory compliance — giving you the full toolkit a working Safety Director needs.

Who This Course Is For

Facility managers, clinical hyperbaric staff, safety officers, and anyone responsible for the safe operation, inspection, or oversight of hyperbaric chambers.

What You'll Learn

  • The history and purpose of fire codes as applied to hyperbaric facilities
  • How to calculate pressure, volume, temperature, and oxygen relationships for operational safety
  • NFPA 99 Chapter 14 requirements for chambers, systems, and documentation
  • ASME and PVHO standards for pressure vessels for human occupancy
  • Mechanical and system-level risk factors in valves, piping, and gas delivery
  • Fire behavior and causation analysis using real hyperbaric incidents
  • Oxygen storage, delivery, and fire-mitigation strategies
  • Clinical risks, contraindications, and patient safety considerations
  • Safety leadership, training, and certification practices
